Nordstrom Ala Moana Honolulu Hawaii – Trend Show May 9, 2016
Have you ever seen a child being told they were going to Disneyland? Do you notice how their eyes light up and the excitement start to build in their little bellies? Then when they finally go to Disneyland, they go crazy like a hot air balloon exploding! They don’t know what to do first and get overloaded with joy from the greatness that surrounds them. It’s a mad house. If it weren’t for the parents being there, physically holding down the fort, it would be like a bad Digital Wonderland Event with kids passed out on the ground and children that haven’t slept in days riding the same rides over and over and hyped up on soda and candy. This happened to us in Disney’s Aulani Hotel out in Ko Olina, Hawaii when we vacationed there for spring break. The kids went crazy and didn’t want to come out of the water.
This may be a huge exaggeration, but it’s pretty similar to the Nordstrom Trend Show event that’s held at Nordstrom in Ala Moana in Honolulu, Hawaii.
For most women, and some men, the Trend Show is something that is looked towards every year. At least me for that is. I went this year with my best friend that flew down from Washington to join me. We met with her sister, cousins, all of her aunts, and grandmother. (Yes we showed up as a group). It is the most fun, with a group of people. The Trend Show is exactly what its states to be. At these events, big name companies will speak about what the new and upcoming trends are and what they are doing or bringing out for this new season. From clothing, accessories, bags and purses, cosmetics, to makeup, everything a woman could possibly care for. At this event, whatever you’re looking for, I promise you’ll find it there!
Total makeover is here. I didn’t have the pleasure to get the whole experience but I did get what I was looking for. I was looking specifically for a new foundation and also a new face regime. I was in need of face products to further my skin in its journey to its best version. My girlfriend and I got fantastic facials, and makeovers. I have to say I was really excited to try certain brands and it was really relaxing to just be pampered, catered to, and also shop for new beauty products.
The new Nordstrom location is aesthetically beautiful. There is a sophisticated bar located on the second level named Habitant and a beautiful restaurant located on the third floor named Ruscello. If you haven’t got to dine there, you need to! There’s so much to check out just in Nordstrom alone. We were there for a good 9 hours that day!
Our experience was an overall 8 out of 10. The only downfalls I’d have to say is it being overcrowded and squished at times. I understand, on the day of the Trend Show, that is to be expected. But when I am trying to get makeup done by an artist and I happen to get bumped into by passerbyers, and the accidental purse wackings, any person would get a little irritable. Maybe it was the new layout? Maybe it was all because of the event? Whatever it was it wasn’t that big of a deal because I’d still come back! And quite frankly, I already can’t wait!
